Long lens landscapes of scenes several miles distant. Atmospheric haze gives these an impressionist feel.

Þingvellir chapel

This little chapel is usually closed and locked. Got lucky that the Prime Minister of Iceland was arriving for a ceremony, and was able to have a look inside.

These two images were taken from the same spot, one looking inland, and one toward the ocean.

This house sized structure was in the middle of a lava field, with no clue as to its function. Weird but cool.

Jökulsárlón

Several films have scenes shot at Jökulsárlón. The lagoon has more than doubled in size since 1975 due to increased glacial melting attributed to global warming. In 2009, the glacier retreated at EIGHT times its recent historical rate.

Dyrhólaey at dusk

Dusk here is at 9:30 pm.

Gullfoss

Gullfoss is one of the largest waterfalls in Europe. Spectacular double rainbow!
